My growth in Technology

So I'm a little sad that class is ending and we all can't get together one last time with Professor Darche! Thanks a lot Coronavirus! But in all seriousiness this class has taught me so much! I had a general knowledge of technology or at least what I thought was a general knowledge! HAAAAA I couldn't of been more wrong! Everything I learned in this Technology class I am grateful for! I've already started using what I have learned and have been practicing it in my coaching life! GOOGLE FORMS!! QR Codes!!! Excel sheets!!!!! Love it! I'm still trying to get used to the whole twitter universe and I promise I will do my best at it and make Professor Darche proud while also following her guidance as far as what to post and what you might be better off not posting (or is it tweeting???) I would like to leave you all with this quote. It's simple but means so much! "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." -Dr. Seuss

My heart is full!!!

So I was supposed to talk about a post that I came across on social media this past week. Well the post I came across that I really enjoyed seeing wasn't that of any random stranger but of my Wife! This past Saturday we announced to our family and friends the gender of our baby that we are having! IT'S A BOY!!! And the post my wife made was a picture of me sleeping and how I usually fall asleep with one hand behind my head and right next to it was an ultrasound picture of our baby boy sleeping in his mama's belly with one arm behind his head! Like Father, Like Son? I guess we'll find out soon! But this post my wife made definitely impacted me and made me realize how amazing this pregnancy really is! From finding out she was pregnant, to hearing the baby's heartbeat, to finding out that baby's heartbeat belongs to our baby boy!😍😍😍😍

My kind of learning style!

I have always been the type of student that learns best by seeing first and then being hands-on after and walking myself through the steps. I'm not the type to just try and get something done as quickly as possible. I like to take my time and make sure I cover everything as thoroughly as possible. I believe I would react very well to Flipped Learning because I can see someone that I have a relationship with performing a task that I need to learn how to do. Just to have that recognition of someone I know and trust be recording themselves on how to do a math problem the right way is very helpful to me. As far as a struggle for Flipped Learning, I think my struggle would be to make sure I am at the right lesson and how to operate Flipped Learning at first. However, after a few times of exploring Flipped Learning it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Why does a 4 day work week feel much longer than a regular 5 day work week?

Just this past week at our school district there was a 4 day work week due to parent teacher conferences. Now before I continue let me say I really do enjoy having that Monday off. It reminds me of being in college were we as a campus always had Mondays off. It brought back a lot of good and fun memories! But back to the present, for some reason 4 day work weeks seem to drag a little bit longer.... Is it just me or are there others out there that agree? It seems as if the hours in the day slow down a little bit, the hands on the clock aren't moving as fast as they normally do... Whichever goofy idea it might seem like.. it's not the case. It's just for some reason goes soooooo sloooowwwwww. Almost like watching a sloth at a cashiers desk at the DMV (did you get that reference?) Well the new work week is upon us and it's already the end of February.. Where is time going? Before you know it we will be in our third class in this Adult Studies program. Crazy right?! Wel...

Positive and Negative Effects of Technology

Technology in education. As Thanos said "Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives." That is technology in education and it is coming, better yet it's already here! Now don't get me wrong, technology is used for so many positive things. On our computers, ipads, cell phones, alexa's, google homes, the list goes on and on. I'll be the first to say I use my cell phone for just about anything from finding out the weather for next week or where the nearest taco or empanadas place (can't go wrong either way!). Technology is changing education in a way that makes accessing grades, homework, or projects easier than ever. There used to be a time, depending on where you lived during the winter months when you would get a few snow days from school. This was both good and bad. Yes, you would get the day off but you would have to make the day up you missed at the end of the school year. That has changed though because of technology in education which I think is awes...
